The AltaMed Family Medicine Residency Program welcomes International Medical Graduates (IMG). Additional requirements for graduates of international medical schools (except Canadian) include having six to 12 months of U.S.-based, hands-on clinical experience, and providing letters of recommendation from American medical school faculty members. ECFMG certification is also required.

Curriculum & Education

PGY-1 includes rotations in Family and Community Medicine (FCM) Discovery and Integration, Youth outreach, Medical outreach, Adult inpatient, Pediatric inpatient, Gynecology outpatient, Surgery, OB inpatient, Pediatric outpatient, Geriatric outpatient, and newborn nursery with a focus on outpatient care and community medicine.
Application
Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted via ERAS starting on September 25th, 2024, and accepted through December 20th, 2024. Requirements include completed ERAS residency application, letters of recommendation, Dean's letter, medical school transcript, USMLE/COMLEX transcript, personal statement, CV, and a photograph.

Fellowship

Resident Life
