Curriculum & Education
Overview
The residency training program of The Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery offers residents comprehensive exposure to all aspects of orthopedic surgery, including trauma, joint arthroplasty, hand, foot and ankle, spine, sports medicine, oncology, and pediatrics. The program emphasizes the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, and pathology for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases, along with the development of diagnostic and surgical skills throughout the five-year program.
Application
Residents must apply by December 1 for the next academic year, submit a completed ERAS application, and part of the application process includes an interview scheduled between January and February.

Residents train at the Baylor St. Luke’s at the McNair Campus and affiliated hospitals throughout the resident rotations.
Fellowship
